Thank you for reading! 📖 decolonized self-care is one that untangles and subverts an overculture that focuses “self-care” on being more productive, beautiful, pleasing, etc. while simultaneously never acknowledging broader implications of said overculture. (Our overculture is one of colonization, patriarchy, capitalism. Ex: The marketing of “self-care” as expensive products rather than systemic change.) Check out that movie Nightbitch. And also the book On Our Best Behavior by Elisa Loehnen. I’ll call you and we can talk about it more 📞 pretty revolutionary! 🌊
